The appeal against Medway Council's refusal of MC/16/3669 the outline planning application for 223 houses West of Town Road, Cliffe Woods has been DISMISSED by the Minister after a planning inquiry in November 2017 (where the parish council were an official party opposing the application), the planning inspector made a recommendation of approval to the Planning Minister.

Gladmans have now appealed against the decision by the Minister and applied to the High Court for the decision to be reviewed. Timescales are not known at this stage. There is no public consultation or opportunity to submit further comments - it is now purely on the legal aspects of the decision. Gladmans claim that the reason for the refusal was that further information came to light after the Public Inquiry and they did not have the opportunity to challenge it. It wil be for the Judge to determine if this is a valid legal challenge and if so what to do next.

DATE FOR HIGH COURT NOW PUBLISHED 14th MAY 2019 (All Day) Decision 16th May 2019 (2.5 Hours)
