09-Dec-2016 MHS Homes have begun consultation on their replacement dwellings when they demolish Rookery Lodge. It is due to be submitted to Medway Council soon.

Initial drawings of their proposals (subject to change before submission)

MHS Homes have begun discussions with the residents of Rookery Lodge, Thatchers Lane, Cliffe about their plans to demolish the building and replace with 16 individual properties (affordable, rent, for sale) and two flats across the road from Rookery Lodge (currently MHS garages). This will mean the relocation of the current residents of this well respected sheltered housing block in the village.

The parish council are working with Medway Councillors, the MP, Rev Jill Wright and the residents themselves to make sure they are treated wth respect and their views understood. There are residents that have lived in the village for decades and have friends or family nearby, they are part of the local community. It is unlikely that they will be found alternative accommodation in the village (and may not even be able to be located in Medway.

Further information will be published as it becomes available.
