KALC Community Award 2024

The Kent Association of Local Councils (KALC) Community Award serves to acknowledge and give recognition to those outstanding individuals who have made a significant and positive contribution to their local community.

Recognised for his long-standing commitment to the villages of Cliffe and Cliffe Woods, the proud recipient of the 2024 Award is Ian Downes.

From the Cliffe Woods Comnunity Association hall in Cliffe Woods, Ian has worked tirelessly in a voluntary capacity as Chair and a trustee of the hall to ensure this amenity remains available to everyone in our Parish. From dealing with hall bookings, drain and boiler repairs to scaling the roof putting up Christmas lights, Ian has been there in every capacity and always with a cheerful word and smile. Nothing is ever too much trouble and we were delighted to recognise him in this small way.

Ian was presented with the award by the Parish Council Chairman, Barry Dibble, at a meeting of the trustees on 19/7/24.

He joins a growing list of worthy annual award winners. Nominations for 2025 will open in November/December 2024.
