Help Shape the Future of Cliffe Woods Car Park - Join Our Working Party

The Cliffe Woods car park is a vital central facility for our community, but years of wear, potholes and the unstable clay subsoil beneath have left it in urgent need of a full renovation. Simple patch repairs are no longer cost-effective or long-lasting.

In 2024, your Parish Council proposed a lasting solution which involves complete excavation, stabilisation of the sub-base and full resurfacing with potential material improvements. This work will make the car park safer, more accessible and more welcoming for everyone who lives in or visits Cliffe Woods for at least the next 20–25 years. Limited funding has already been set aside, and we are now forming a Working Party to help make this project a reality, aiming for completion during the 2026/27 financial year.

At our full Council meeting on 18 September, we decided to reach out to councillors and residents alike for volunteers. We would love to hear from anyone who wants to play a part in improving this important community facility. Experience in civil engineering, construction, project management or similar fields would be especially helpful, but enthusiasm, a collaborative spirit and a commitment to seeing the project through are just as valuable. Members will work together on early planning, commissioning professional advice and assistance where needed, gathering quotations, and keeping the project on track until completion.

The Working Party will report back to the full Council each month so that progress and key decisions can be approved.
