Subject: Higham Branch Site – Update Following ICB Decision

Good afternoon,

We are writing to provide an update following the outcome of our application regarding the future of the Higham branch site and to thank you for your engagement and input throughout the process.

The NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) has completed its review and confirmed that the Higham branch site may close, contingent on the implementation of the support measures outlined below.

We recognise that this decision may raise concerns within the local community, and we acknowledge the strong feedback received during the engagement period. While this was a challenging decision, it enables us to ensure the sustainability and continuity of services across our remaining sites.

Key measures to support patients and continuity of care include:

  • Continuity of Care: All patients registered at Higham will continue to receive care at our remaining three sites.
  • Home Visits: We will continue to provide home visits to housebound patients in line with GMS contract obligations.
  • Service Delivery: Efforts will be made to reduce patient travel, such as coordinating multiple services in a single visit where possible.
  • Repeat Prescriptions: Clear guidance will be provided on available options for ordering repeat prescriptions to support medication access.

Pharmacy services in Higham remain unaffected, as the pharmacy operates independently. We will continue collaborating closely with the pharmacy to ensure timely management of prescriptions.

We are committed to maintaining high-quality, safe, and accessible care during this transition and will continue to develop the enhanced measures described above. Over the coming weeks, we will share detailed information to patients on timelines, operational arrangements, and next steps as we work towards closing the branch in spring 2026.

We value your continued engagement and partnership as we implement these changes and support patients through this transition. Your input remains vital in helping us deliver services effectively and responsively.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Kind regards

On behalf of The Partners
